Finally got to shoot mine again!
« on: March 23, 2009, 11:27:51 AM »
After the long wait for the screw I finally got to take my 2" Tracker 44 Mag to the range again.  After my last trip with it, back in September as I recall,  ::)  I reamed the way undersized cylinder throats out to .431; the barrel slugs out at .430.  I also drifted the front sight a bit as the "pattern" it would shoot at 25 yards was way left.   :(

For this range trip I loaded up some 240 gr. cast RNFP's sized to .429 ahead of 8.2 gr. of Unique.  This gives me about 850 fps out of the snubbie.  Low and behold, wonder of wonders, hush my puppies and corn my pone that revolver actually shot a group!    :o  Not a great group by any of you pistolaro's definition, but good enough to give me hope with some correctly sized bullets!  And certainly good enough for a personal defense weapon!    ;D

Now to put a couple hundred more rounds through it for reliabilties sake!   ;)

Does anyone remember the scene from "Quigley Down Under" showing the aborigines lined up on the skyline as far as you could see?   That needs to be US!

Thank you.
Please remember though only AFTER hushing your puppies should you corn your pone, thereby appeasing the target gods and allowing your taurus to shoot groups. To do so beforehand could be catastrophic.

People tell me that 'bout every time I open my mouth...  :-[  I'm beginning to worry about myself...  :-\

I take it you don't like chit'lins?   ???

Now that I finally have a chance to sit down at my computer I'm gonna order a couple hundred 250 grain Keith Style SWC, 15 BH and sized to .431 to match the throats on my Taurus.  I figure that at 850 - 900 fps that will be my daily carry load.

No, not a big fan of chitterlings. Sorry about highjacking this thread, I've been in a weird mood lately.

Let us know how she shoots with the new load..
