« on: March 16, 2009, 05:09:49 AM »
Just put another barrel on my survivor frame, (which looks great by the way!) and i was wondering what hand loads have worked best for everybody.

Just let me know ;D

WELCOME HECTOR!!!!

One of my all-time favorite loads for the 25/06 is a 100Gr Nosler BT, a CCI BR primer and IMR 4895 powder. Three different rifles shoot little, itty bitty groups @ 100 yards!!  ;D

That would be for you to learn using data from your manual for the recommended powders/bullets, work the load up using safe reloading practices until you find the accurate sweet spot, what works in one rifle doesn't mean it will work in another identical model of the same rifle, so you need to work up the load in your rifle.  ;)

Hector,
Tim's right. As a rule I do not give out powder charges as I would hate to quote the wrong information and have someone hurt. It's also kind of an unwritten law around here, not to post loads. If your a beginning loader you really need some time in front of a good loading manuel, I always recommend the current LYMAN manual. Its a great place to start, from there get as many manufactures books as bullets you end up shooting.

Good luck,
 CW

Thanks Tim. You always know how to say things in just the right way.
If you don't mind, I'm saving that one for future use.

You mean nobody likes powder burnt faces, and unlocking your gun when you fire from to hot of a load, or primers flying out the back end???   ???
Just joking! I understand and respect the comments. I can see how a newbie might not recognize a unsafe load tip and cause some harm to gun or person.
Just trying to shortcut some feild time on the loads.
Been doing testing with the .308 survivor on loads. Getting really good results out to 400 yards so far. Going out to 700 yards this weekend with some new loads using H335 and Varget with match bullets. Can't wait to see rusults.

Thanks for the load tips to who all posted. ;D
