Can't tell you about threads.  What I can tell you is that Browning uses Loc-Tite (or equivalent) threadlocker on their rifle barrels (ok, at least the A-bolts.  Don't see why they'd do it on them and nothing else), so you'll need to apply enough heat to break that threadlocker free.  If you don't, you stand a very good chance of destroying the threads in the receiver.
