LIMB SAVER RECOIL PAD

Has anyone used one of the Limb Saver Recoil pads on their Contender or Encore? I see they make a slip on pad that they claim reduces recoil by 80%. I could sure use it on my Encore 300WRM. It makes me say bad words after a few shots. If you have used one which size fits the Encore or Contender stocks. :D

I ordered a pre-fit in the proper size for my Encore synthetic stocked 209x45.  Didn't fit my stock well at all.  Also didn't notice any significant change in recoil.

Emailed Sims and got no response as to the fit problem.  I'll sell you mine cheap.  :)

From memory and you better double check this - size is 10031.

I do not know about the slip on pad.  I bought one of the kind you replace your factory pad with and was delighted with it.  It fit my Encore perfect and I would guess it reduced felt recoil by about 1/3.  I dont think anything could reduce felt recoil by 80%.  The only way to really know would be to test it on some kind of scale.  To go by what a person would perceive as recoil would have too many variables.  Anyway, I really like mine and would be hard pressed to give it up.

Encore Buttstock recoil absorber

I imagine you could fit an Encore Stock with one of those mercury recoil absorbers like they use in the trap & skeet shotguns. I heard good things about them.  You would probably have to drill out the buttstock and fit the thing in there.  Has anyone tried this?  I have a small child shooting a 250 sav and even partial recoil reduction would be a plus.

I just finished sighting in my 375 H&H, factory bbl. I used to have a 300 win mag that was absolutely painful to shoot. I have a wood stock. The Lady at the libsaver company said to just order the one for the synthetic stock and cut the plastic ridges off the back of the pad so it would fit flusk on the wood stock. It fits fairly well, although the toe of the pad was a little long, quickly fixed witha fine file. I don't have a guage, but the recoil of the 375 load I used is more than the 300, and it was nice to shoot, no bruises!
