A big surprise!
« on: August 30, 2003, 01:04:51 PM »
While not being able to find the Leupold double dovetail mount and rings, I found the Burris signature base and rings. I figured they would be the same as Leupold and Redfield so I ordered them. Boy, was I wrong! The Burris base was like I thought it would be but the rings have a plastic insert in them. At first I thought, what is this c@#$. I installed them and although they were a little harder than the normal rings, I am impressed. They won't scratch the scope and seem to hold great. They even make the inserts that you can use as eccentrics if you run out of adjustment in your scope. In theory, I guess you could leave the scope adjustment at center and line up with the inserts. Sometimes you have to keep an open mind to new things  Don

I have the same setup on my 25-06 barrel and the rings are great. I just bought the offset inserts(shims) for the rings due to scope running out of adjustment. Going back to the range monday to give it a try. Im not crazy about the base with that recoil lug but other than that its great.

Burris Signature Zee Rings.  I love them.  I use them on everything now.  And, with the inserts I can get close to zero and not run the scopes out of travel.
