O/T Victorian Fires
« on: February 08, 2009, 11:55:58 AM »
Hi Fellow Handi Rifle shooters,
Say a prayer for the people of Victoria. There's 108 dead so far, 650 houses lost.
The fires are still out of control. We're safe as the closest fire is 40kms away and burning in the opposite
                                           direction.
                                          go to www.cfa.vicgov.au   for info.

10 days ago I was at a customer's location in Hallam, one of the employees had a fire reasonably near his home.
Something we do not have to deal with in Ohio.

The death toll is higher now, and last I heard they were looking for arsonists.  I hope they get them and let the people decide their punishment.........it should be very slow and lingering.  Perhaps burning on a very low fire.

Hi,
Still 24 fires burning around the state, but the weather is cooler than the 113.5 deg f it was on saturday. Death toll at the moment is 173, although they expect to find more. 750 houses lost.
                               Take care, jon

This is really bad. All we can do here is pray.
we have had some bad fires here but their is nothing can be done, but pray,
the wind and rain seems to be the only control.
