Is this possible?

Would it be possible to have a gunsmith rechamber/rebore a handi-rifle barrel for 8x57mm Mauser .323" ? I think this would be a good barrel to have in addition to my .280/.25-06/.223 Just wondering how and if it would be possible. I am fairly mechanically inclined but am no gunsmith!

Sure, it just takes money, plan on spending $300 or so for the work plus the cost of the donor barrel, a 223 barrel would make a good donor. I've had a couple rebores done, a 338-06 A-Square from a 25-06, and a 405 Winchester from a 38-55. You could also have one stubbed, see the FAQs and Help sticky for more info on that, but cost would still be in the same ball park as a rebore.

Is there any good gunsmiths you guys can recommend(locally or otherwise). I am in southeast MI, I will have to see if Williams Gunsight would do this kind of work or maybe send it out? Thanks for the info.
