444 ammo

would like to try another brand of ammo for my handi rifle! i use the leverevolution hornandys now but it tears up way to much meat. any suggestions??

I don't eat deer ribs, so I haven't had a problem with the 2 deer I killed with mine.  What meat are you losing?  Not being a jerk, but perhaps shot placement is the real issue.

When I am out meat hunting I will avoid any shoulder shots for the very reason that it messes up a bunch of meat no matter if I am shooting 45/70, 44 mag or 3006.   I will try for a broadside double lung shot because I too don't eat the ribs on most of the deer down here.   If it is a big hog I will usually opt for a shot just below the ear for a bang flop.   Then it stays away from the bigger ribs of a heavy porker.

yeah!! probably my fault taking shoulder shoots! would like try something wiythout the plastic tip though!

Skip the stuff that is loaded with the 240 gr Pistol bullet.  UUUGLY !!
For something that works and doesn't put you into the Poorhouse use the HDY load with their 265 gr. FN bullet and go for a rib cage shot.
