Encore Grouping Problem, well I figured it out!!!!!!!!!!!
« on: August 25, 2003, 04:30:18 PM »
Thanks to all that offered help to my Encore grouping problem thread down below. The problem was the factory stock. When I sighted in last year I used a youth stock from Bullberry, as this barrel is for my 7 yr. old son. Well, when I started shooting it this summer I put on my factory synthetic stock. Today in my last minute of desperation, before I tore into the scope and mounts, I tried his stock that it shot so well with last year. Well, presto-bingo and back to 1 in. groups, simply amazing because with the factory stock it was like 8 in. groups. The Bullberry stock has a pillar in it and I am guessing this has made all the difference in the world. I will shoot the muzzleloader soon and see if this stock helps it out, and if it does I will get a full size one for me and probably a forearm to match. Has anyone else seen this as well?

Thanks again, Ben B.

I have had one work its way loose before.  It causes all kinds of trouble until its gets loose enough that you know what the problem is.

I have used both synthetic and walnut factory stocks on my 22/250 and could tell no difference at all. Point of aim or group size didn't change. I would look real close at that stock and try and figure out whats not right. Then call them and have them send you a new one.  KN
