30-30Handi with NS serial

I've read through the FAQs but I'm still a little confused.  I may buy a 30-30 handi with an "NS" serial number.  I just want to confirm that high pressure (those with asterisks on the barrel accessory page) barrel can be factory fitted to this gun.  There is also a 223 with the same NS serial, would this receiver also be compatible with high pressure rounds? Thanks

As long as its a SB-2 rifle frame there should be no problem having a ( * ) barrel fitted , the 2nd letter makes it a 2002 year frame .

Stimpy, on some of the SB-2's they won't fit some of the barrels.  I picked one of those up, but I wanted to have .357 fitted, so no problem.

I would call them and ask.  Give them your serial number, and what you want fitted, and they will let you know if it is possible.

They can be a tad picky about some frames , but he is asking about a NS frame then he should be good ,
N = NEF - S = 2002 , for it to be a problem it would have to be a 1998 frame - HM or NM or before , as the cutoff date would be a NN or HN 1999 .

Agreed, as I re-read your post, I see where I mis-interpreted what you said.  I read as long as it was an SB-2 frame, it would be OK, and what I now see you wrote was given the serial number, as long as it was an SB-2, and not an SB-1 frame, he would not have any problems.

Sorry, guess it was just close to home, as I have a 1998 frame, and they won't even put some (*) barrels on them (like the 45LC).
