RWS 450 3-9x40 Scope Question
« on: August 24, 2003, 06:22:40 AM »
I have a RWS 45 that has some serious kick and from what I have read it is a scope eater.  I tried a Bushnell 74-0039 and it ate it.  Im considering the RWS 450 3-9x40 scope at $130.  Is there anyone here who has tried this scope and has first hand knowledge on its durability.  I want a rock solid scope for under $150.

Thanks

Clay

Clay,

Seeing that this is your first post let me take a moment to welcome you to Graybeards.  Second "magnum" type springer air rifles have a history of destroying even good air rifle scopes.  I tried a Bushnell air rifle scope on my first Beeman Kodiak and it didn't even make it through the sighting in process.  I ended up trading that air rifle in on my first Crow Magnum III that my son owns now.  I use nothing but Burris Air Rifle scopes and have never had a problem.  Let us know if you get one of the RWS 450's and how it works for you.  Lawdog

You can tune that and take out some of the recoil, if it's going to trash scopes. I had my RWS 34 done and it really smoothed it out & made it more fun to shoot. My R9 is next. The kit I bought was from www.jamesmaccari.com well worth the $$ in my opinion.....DP

Just searched their site and could not find the RWS 450 scope for sale anywhere on that site.  Can you shed some light where on the site you saw that scope?

Thanks
