Reloading for 1895Marlin and NEF Handi Rifle in 45-70

 Getting ready to reload for these two rifles and have 405 grain Rem SP and 405 grain hardcast bullet`s with gas checks. First question  does any one know if there is enough difference in the freebore of these two rifles to warrant any consideration of bullet seating depth? Second question as these reloads will be used on whitetails and hogs, any body have any experience with using the 405 grain hardcast on whitetails loaded to about 1300-1400fps?

If you go to the handi forum and scroll through some pages you will find out all you need to know about the handi. Cant say about hunting as all i shoot is paper. Can't say about the marlin either

The Handi will have a slightly longer throat , don't ask me why but they do  , were your going to be limited in COL is the lever gun , as you only have so much action to work with . Stick to the standard COL for the 405 bullet and you will be fine for both .

I'm running a non gas checked 405 bullet at around 1200 fps with no leading problems so you will able to push the GC'ed one a bit more if you want , and as BNB said , they just flat knock deer down .
