Stevens Accuracy ?

I'm thinking about getting a Stevens 200 in 22-250 for 'yotes and whistle pigs, just wondering about what kind of accuracy I can expect and some favorite pet loads.
I'm torn between a Savage and the Stevens and the price is really looking good at this point.
Thanks

The Stevens 200 is a Savage, same action and barrel, The trigger is the pre Accu style, a bit stiff but not horrible. The stock is plain bordering on ugly but they shoot. I got a 30-06 and am happy with what I get from several different loads.

I don't know about the 22-250 but the one I have in 223 is very good. It consistently goes under an inch at 100 yds. on a still day. I have done as good as .6" with some handloads. The trigger can be adjusted down to about 3 lbs and can be made even better by making a spring from lighter guage music wire.
The gray stock is UGLY to me. I gave it a camo paint job with Krylon spray paint. Still not the prettiest gun I've seen by a long shot but a lot better than the plain gray.

Thanks for the replys guys, I'm not real worried about how it looks as long as it's consistent and accurate.
Thanks

I have two of the Stevens, .308 & .243. I would (and will) buy another in a heartbeat!
Not much on looks but all the ones I've been around shoot good.
Good luck, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

here are some 100 yd groups from an assortment of .223 loadings factory and handloaded from my bone stock Stevens 200 before I started upgrading things. In my opinion pretty good for a $300 rifle with a pencil thin bbl, an unbedded or free floated stock and a stock trigger.
