winchester mdl92 date of manufacture ?

My friend brought over his win 92 last night for me to look at the serial # is 873xxx can any of you guys tell me when it was made the caliber is 25-20 the metal is grey most of the bluing is gone but no rust it has a 3/4 length mag that looks normal but there is what looks to be another hole tapped for a full length mag tube with some rings or scoring around the muzzle.

Your friends gun was made in 1919.
Starting serial # that year was 870943 and ended with 903649 for a total production that year of 32706 guns.
This is according to WINCHESTER'S DATES OF MFG. 1849-1984.
