Which Linebaugh custom?
« on: January 10, 2009, 07:58:41 PM »
Hello all,
I am looking to have a Ruger Bisley Blackhawk (blue) converted to .475 Linebaugh and am wondering who to go with. I would appreciate feedback from those who've experience with John linebaugh's work, as well as Dustin Linebaugh's work, as these are my primary choices. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,
J.S. :)

Well John will tell you Dustin does better work than he does and they charge the same. Now the hitch in the giddy up is Dustin will probably be making guns for years top come, John for fewer years, so if you want one from each you might get John to do the first one. If it was a once in a lifetime then well the word I hear is Dustin is the better of the two. I do know Dustin does as nice of a set of custom grips on a Bisley as anyone in the world, don't pass on getting a set when you have him do your gun, that would be a real shame to pass on.

couldnt have said it better. Youve probably go 20 years to have dustin build one but are lucky to have 20 months left of john building them.

Thanks for the replys. Do any of you have pics of their work, maybe customs of your own? By the way Lloyd, your input helped sway me in this direction.

Thanks,
J.S. :)

John Linebaugh .475 full boat conversion. Around 2 1/2 year wait now for Johns work. The grips are by Dustin. This gun is unfired and will be listed soon over on Sixguns in the classified for sale. Lots of extras go with it.

Thans for all the pics, Lloyd. Those are all really nice. How could you stand to part with any of them!

I only have about 20 guns that i would never part with. FOr the right price the others go. Mostly sold them to finance other guns and hunting trips.

For what it's worth here is a pic of my Linebaugh Custom in 45 Colt.  This one was done by John.  It's a shooter and a keeper for sure.

I am having Gary Reeder do a custom for me on my Ruger Super Blackhawk to the 475 Linebaugh.  I already have a Reeder custom 510 GNR, a short 500 Linebaugh.

I love the Linebaugh rounds.

Sorry to hear that, I've never experienced his guns but, have great respect for his opinions on handguns.
