I can't really recommend the Skatchet. The steel takes a nice edge, but doesn't hold it for very long. Making a handle in the field is a pain although not partcularly difficult. It's heavy, and for that amount of weight you'd be way ahead with a Gransfors Bruks "Mini Hatchet". Just my .02.
