Ready for a test drive !!!

I'm just about finished rebuilding my half-scale Napoleon... all that remains is to add a few hooks for hanging implements.  I would take it out for a test drive today but the truck is in the shop for some minor maintenance and it won't fit in the back of the Saturn.





It's now a golfball bore and I have 14 or 15 rounds on sabots all ready to go.  Powder charges from 425 to 650 gr GOEX Cannon.... sure do wish the truck was here.



Oh well.... hopefully Saturday or Sunday.

Love that new carriage!

The old one in your avatar was fine but just didn't 'fit' with the Napoleon like this new one does.

Looking forward to fire & smoke.


Did you make any canister?  ;D

Well you done her justice looks ready for some smoke and fire, is that a M1903 rifle sight you have on the breech?
At first glance in the first two photo's I thought it might be a Krag, but that last photo says 03  ;D

Yes, that's an '03 rear sight.  Had one laying around and it has really worked out well.  May not be period but this particular cannon is not a reproduction of anything.

 The new color looks Great! Did you finally get to shoot it this weekend? If so, you had Great weather to do so. I just got back from Phelan and it was warm and sunny. So, where do you take it when you go out?

Yes, it would have been a wonderful weekend to go shooting but unfortunately the truck is in the shop for some minor repair and I won't have it back before Monday.  Have lots of other projects to keep me busy though.  Have to get some tent poles made if I plan on having a tent to sleep in for the ACWS live fire next weekend.
