Doesn't surprise me in the least. He was seriously guilty of copy right infringement and that he got away with it as long as he did is the surprise. I used to let him post his links here freely as he wanted but then he started posting links to where he was selling copies of copy righted material and I had to call a halt to it. He got mad at me shortly afterward and pretty much stopped posting here all together and then set up forums on his site.

If he didn't get caught on the copy right thing I'd be surprised. Some folks take that stuff kinda serious like.

They aren't all gone, just the cartridge dimensions and the reloading data pages that I've noticed so far.

Not sure what you fellas are seeing but its all there when I go there. The man offers up more free information about handloading than any single person i have ever contacted on the net (I use his info for reference). The copy right problems aren't mine so I don't care.

I found this out recently also.  I ended up doing internet searches for what I was looking for.  I was quite suprized to find that wikipedia had the correct information.

It maybe nothing more than the hackers that got to us have gotten to Steve but it might also be that someone has gotten him on the copyright material. I would be inclined to think some day that's gonna bite him in the butt. I was concerned it would bite me just letting him post the offers to sell it here. I don't care either but the owners of the stuff might.

I see them yes but the cartridge drawings and dimensions page is gone.

They along with all the Owner's manuals and such were copy righted material.

You have to hand it to Steve. You hear complaints how much cash it takes to have a good website/Forum and keep it up... NOT FROM STEVE! His site had tons of info... not sure about the traffic but I never heard whining about money

Steve ran a fairly low budget site for a long time and took it from his pocket as I did here for a long time until costs rose so high it was no longer in my budget to just take it from my pocket. I then had to begin selling advertising to keep it afloat. Without it this one would not exist.

Steve eventually decided he had to have income from it to keep his afloat as well. He began selling copies of the copy righted material tho to raise it a step I'd have been much too concerned about the repercussions of to do myself. Dunno if he ever began selling advertising also or what.

As long as you stay small and offer mostly a data site you can keep costs very low. When you begin offering forums and the traffic level requires a dedicated server costs sky rocket fast. Many is the time I've wished I'd stayed small and low cost but there's no turning back at this point and finally after a lot of years of negative cash flow from GBO it's actually bringing in a little profit for us.

Guys,

This should be a lesson for all of us.  If you like this forum, post some stuff.  Anthing you post might be valuable to someone, even a problem with something or an opinion that might seem dumb to you at the time.

Also, support this forum if you are able and you like it.  It is easy to contribute a little money a few times an year to help keep it open.  See the Pay Pal button below.  Spend your available hunting, shooting, fishing, etc. money with the advertisers here.  They are a good bunch and I do.

I don't know Graybeard personally but I love this forum and thank him for it.  Keep up the good work GB! This is totally unsolicited.

Sincerely,

Blowtorch53

That is what keeps the advertisers renewing their ads and those ads are what keeps this and any other site like it running. Small ones you can cover out of pocket fairly well but when they get this large and cost this much it takes a lot of revenue flow to cover expenses. Dunno what Steve's expenses are or for that matter anyone's other than ours. From what ours are tho I can kinda speculate what other sites of similar size might be.

It's one heck of a lot more than I could afford with no paying advertisers. It's nice to make a bit of profit also for all the time and effort that goes into such a site.
