Wednesday, mid week. Time to plan the weekends dog events. Two friends stopped by last night asking about going rabbit hunting this weekend. I haven't had my beagles out in a while, that will change this weekend. I told them to meet me here at 7 a.m. and not be late. That is really important with Kenny and Don. Both have got old and like to sleep, they're 55 & 56. They haven't been rabbit hunting in a long time either. They aren't in as good a shape as the dogs. It will be fun to see who will give out first. My best dog is Becky she is 10, that's old for a hunting hound. She is really a go getter, a rabbit don't stand a chance with her on the ground. I'll take Becky, Pixie, Dixie, Suzi and Russel. They work good together. Kenny wants to go over to the club and run. This will be good we have all seen rabbits over there. I expect the dogs will hold out better than them two. I expect to hunt until dinner. After dinner I plan on taking Ben and Belle out for a few birds. I plan on taking them down to my cousins new plantation. The Harley Plantation has been used for hunting for about 30 years. I rode through it last weekend and there are really some great places to hunt birds. I can't wait to see what Ben and Belle will get into. Not long ago I ran Belle all over the Gibson place, thought she was chasing birds, wrong it was a armadillo. She is a good armadillo dog, she can dig just about as fast as they can. I'll have a new story to tell after these hunting trips. You know each hunting trip is a real adventure. We are so lucky the Lord gave us dogs.
