The only centerfires that come on new handie SB1 frames are the .44 and .357 mags The SB1 is basically a shotgun frame and can't handle centerfire pressures The SB2 frame conversly is the centerfire frame and can handle all centerfire and up to 12guage shotgun barrels. Other than the strenght of the frame there is no other real diffrence. I don't think any current production barrels will have ejectors they should all be extractors, I prefer ejectors but the extractor barrel seem to have less trouble pulling rounds out of the chamber. Good picks on caliburs both seem to perform well  The .45-70 is one of mine and most everybody else favorites, The hornets are just fun to shoot, you may wanna get a .357 also they are one of the most versital and fun to shoot handie made.

BTW I am a tinkerer I like to take things apart and mess with them, maybe make them better maybe not, But handies seem to be talior made for the tinker, Easy to work on easy to get parts for, And we have a huge support group right here for when you get the addiction althou we support the addiction not getting over it. ;D

I've shot TC contenders and encore but in my world the handies win hands down. Enjoy. 8)
