? about decoys.

I have about 6 mallard decoys and 6 blue wing teal decoys. Can I use them together  in the same spread? Ive seen where some people have used 2 or 3 different types of ducks for there spread but I'm not sure if I can use these 2 together. Thanks for any help.

I'd pick a nice secluded spot, not too big water, and put the mallards in front of you and the teal a little to the side. Leave a spot for more ducks to join, bearing in mind the wind... and maybe you'll get some shooting!

Thank you Sean. That's what I didn't know. whether I could use them together. From the sound of it I can just put them in there own little groups and not intermingled. I will definetly give it a try this fall. Thanks again. :D

You can group them together but always put the other species at one corner. Or you can as Sean said. Both will work. :D

In my neck of the woods you can mix them to your hearts delight. My spreads have mallards, pintails, teal, widgeon and a couple coot all mixed together. Doesn't seem to bother any species.

Usually I mix ducks only when they are roughly the same size: mallards, blacks, widgeon, and pintails go together, but I put smaller teal off to the side by themselves.  The same with goose decoys; I'll put a few duck decoys out as well, but don't mix them together in a bunch.

well, arond here teamfold em uses any decs we have without any major seperation, (some but not all that important) we have good luck on all types of ducks no problem with any specific species good luck and i hope (maybe) this info helps
