I suggest sending it back to the factory and having it checked out.

Better safe than sorry.  Yeah, send it in with a note, an honest one, stating what occured and the load you used, again, be honest.  If it's safe, you'll be good to go with maybe just a cylinder and base pin proberly.  If it's more than that, well, lesson learned adn you buy a new gun.

A definate eye opener that turned out safe fortunetly - another reason to be honest with them.  A perfect examle of double and trile checking your loads.

Also you might send a thank you note for saving you from that 60,000 psi load. Rugers are tough.

a new cyl will probably fix it but if you buck up and are honest about your load your going to have to pay the bill. Ruger like anyother gun maker will not warantee a gun using handloads

Sorry to hear about this.
This is the reason why I use a loading block.

I feel your pain. Some years ago, I managed to double charge a 1911 and when it went, it blew the mag out of the gun, split the grips, and expanded the slide and frame. I managed to fix it by sending it to Novak who put in a fully ramped barrel and fixing the slide and frame. Ruger may be able to fix your Super Blackhawk with a new cylinder. It may depend on whether the frame has been stretched too much.

A friend of mine bought some reloading gear and with it came some .44 reloads.  Firing them  cracked the cylinder on his SBH.  Sent it to Ruger with the case still in the cracked chamber, they repaired it and returned it at no charge.  Ruger guns don't come with a warranty but Ruger is good about taking care of it's customers.  This happened when Bill Ruger was still around may be different now.  I broke some of that ammo down and it contained 22 grs. of Bullseye but luckily it was packed in the case so hard it had solidified or it would have destroyed the gun.  I've seen 2 SBHs with the top 3 chambers and the top strap blown off due to double or triple charges of fast powder, usually bullseye.

…This is the reason why I use a loading block…

I always use at least two; you take case from one, do one operation and put it into another one. When loading powder, once I finished, I take block with cases and inspect them all for powder level under good light. It’s fast. NEVER use single block when loading powder, sooner or later you gona make boo-boo and result will be kaboo-boo. Just my 0.2 cents…

Looks like that somebody was loading old Keith load of 2400 for 44 magnum, just using Bullseye, what a (deadly) mistake. Learning from others, I adopter very early not to thrust somebody’s reloads, unless you know reloader very well. Once I bought some loaded 455 Webley rounds and first thing I had done was to pull the bullets. In a number of them I found paper ball, yes, you read that right, paper ball, placed between bullet and powder. Who would guess pressure in that round, for revolver with max pressure 12 000 psi?

Perfect example of why it's never a good idea to use unknown loads.  If I don't load 'em or know the person that did - and trust them a LOT - I don't shoot 'em.

Me too, Everyone around knows I shoot a lot so they are always bringing me odds and ends that they no longer have guns for.  I always take them but I always break them down, save the case and the bullet, dump the powder.

This is why I don't give anyone my handloads, or why I don't use anyone elses.  My dad gave a young friend of my brothers some 44mags. once, mildly loaded for a Ruger.  He filed the cylinder on a Bulldog 44spec. until he got them in, then blew up the gun.  Luckily thats all.  As we say here in Ga.  "broke me from sucking eggs".
