You can see the 44 Special at Lipsey's. It says they're coing soon, a friend called Lipsey's today and asked about them and they said it should be about the end of Jan.

Hey Lloyd, it's almost the end of the day, have you found out what else is new?

Thanks Slufoot

I know Lipsey's ordered 1000 4 5/8" and 1000 5 1/2" barreled 44 specials and from when they announced the gun officially they took orders for all 2000 guns in less than 72 hours! So if Ruger actually produces the gun (they have promised stuff in the past they didn't ever actually produce) they will most likely have a couple more runs coming behind this first order in pretty short order.

No I had not heard of other news but Lloyd has peaked my interest. I did talk to Turnbull restoration who is talking to Ruger about doing a run of No 1 rifles in 470 and 475 Turnbull cartridges but they have not placed any orders yet....

The .44 Specials are a contract run for Lipsey's.  Not really Ruger's doing other than agreeing to accept the proposal.  Basically a gauranteed sale of 2000 units.  They're to be available in January with 250 or so available every few months.  These contracts can be open ended and allowing for additional units if production allows. Good chance seeing the instant success.
The Bisley New Vaqueros are to be available in 5 1/2" , stainless and with imitation ivory grips in .357 magnum and .45 LC.  These are to be cataloged models I believe.
There's been rumor of a stainless flattop for a bit but haven't heard anything definate.

Have heard tale of a couple others and a pic of another but when told not to tell...  I respect my sources.  Can say another is a nother contract run of a MKIII, one a run of stainless Chargers and a new cataloged model of the Charger - the Axoim - having a synthetic stock.  Seen that one, nothing that got me excited.

There's new #1 chamberings coming too to the catalog - one of which I WILL have, another maybe.

Have to wait though for the rest. ;)

Yes, the KA#1A's are another Lipsey's thing continuing thier series of this configuration.  Previous ones were 6.5x55 and .35 Whelen I believe.  Poss. in .257 Roberts as well.
Forgot and didn't post it previously, there's to be a anniversary edition of the Super Blackhawk as well.  A special case - proberly red - and it's having a nice high polish blued finish.
Some merchandise for the 60th Ann. of the company will be available too.

Those .44 specials better be on the 'New Vaquero' frame or I'm not interested.  The whole point of a .44 spl single action is to be a handy compromise; enough power but easily carried.  I can see no point in one being on the .44 Mag frame and chambered for the .44 special.  I can already shoot .44 spl in my Super Blackhawk, what I want is something small and handy on a frame no bigger than (or not much) a SAA.  Just my thing I guess.  44 Man.

Well, they're to be built on the same medium sized flattop frame as the 50th Ann. .357 was a few years ago.  So yes, they're the same size as the New Vaquero but with the flattop topstrap and adjustable sights.

I agree lewis if its not a vaquero im going to have to pass. What id really like is a montado in 44special. Now that would even get the plastic out.

Lloyd, it doesn't have to be a Montado!  I have a spare Super Blackhawk SS hammer and a friend who can cut barrels for me!  You can end up with what ever you wish by one means or another!
My next .44 will be a Gaucho .357 that I can rework to .44 spl with a 4" barrel.  Yes, I do love those Gaucho's (and Charters).  Strange, ain't I!  44 Man

I know I got my name on the list for one of those 44 specials with 5.5 inch barrel. I'm hoping it comes my way. Save me alot of $$$ over having something custom done.

Why on earth would they hesitate to add a model to the lineup they just sold 2000 units of sight unseen, yet add a bisley new vaquero no one asked for to the catalog?

Ppl are asking for the Bisley vaquero to return on the medium frame actually.  SASS shooters would like them back.

Good chance the contract for the .44 specials included some sort of stipulation that disallows them to be cataloged for a given amount of time. That keeps Lispey's as the lone distributor of them.

Are any AcuSport 5.5 inch Bisley models currently available to dealers from AcuSport? I know they are available NIB online and from some dealers - just wondering about new production as I see different grip materials on some of the photos.

I believe these new stainless Bisleys are part of another clean-up .  The previous clean up ones went to a distributor other than Acusport.  One I currently forget the name of but one that I hadn't heard of  and that a search gave nothing on.
