Good Looking pup!

I have a 4 month old I picked up 7 weeks ago. I'll have to find a picture to show off.

Good lookin pup! I took mine out on Friday with my son and a life long friend and his chessie. They worked great together. Mine would point and his would come in and flush. We kicked up 12 birds and 12 birds dropped.

Ron,
When mine was younger she couldn't stand still. I tied a pheasant wing to a 8ft bamboo fishing pole with roughly 8ft of fishing line. I tossed it back & forth and Gretchen started to point right away. Maybe if you want her to point, get it a try. Also.. when I casted the wing, while it was in the air, I pulled the trigger on a starter pistol in order to she if she was gun shy or not. At first she was but I got her attention directed back on the wing and after a few more times, she was use to the sound and started to relate it to the wing dropping to the ground.

I also have a 3 year old that's a hunting fool. She locks up so tight I can lift her by the tail when she's on point and her head won't move. If I can get this little male to flush, I'll be the King! lol!

He's knows he's a pointer I have a place up the road we walk too and he's got a good grasp on what we're doing. I haven't worked him with a pistol yet. Right now it's all play, I think he's still a little young.

I have 2 GSP's and they are really good.  The girl, DeeDee is 4 she is one real hunting machine.  The only thing about her is she is and alpha female.  She doesn't like for another dog to get to close to me or her.  The only dog she doesn't mind is Ben the Brittany.  My boy is 3 his name is Chippy.  He is as hard a hunting dog as I have ever seen.  His problem is he is hard mouth.  ON dead birds he isn't to bad, but a live bird he will crush, he makes sure they are dead before he brings them to me.  I have had to throw a number of birds away.  I mainly use him in field trials.  He is super fast and can smell a bird a mile away.  Your dog looks great and you have started it off well.  Keep hunting and things will just get better.
