You don't need a license but there are Fed. and GBO rules that you MUST follow.
Frames go FFL to FFL if being shipped.
Just go to the classified's and post what you have for sale... to comply with site rules... follow your posting with... "ALL FED AND GBO RULES APPLY"

I'm not talking about any face to face transactions...
If the frame is being shipped to someone...
FFL to FFL is the absolute way to make sure you are legal.
There will be a clear record of the seller transferring their ownership of the frame.
There will be a clear record of the buyer obtaining their ownership of the frame.
Any cost involved is minimal compared to being charged with a federal felony.
I'm not trying to tell anyone what to do... I would just hate to see someone get in a bind with the law.

Alot of FFL holders won't even accept a frame unless it comes from another FFL.

ship to an ffl is a positive statement, check your local and state firearms law for shipping long guns.
BUT!!!!!!!! all handguns must go ffl to ffl.

FFL to FFL...the only way to go unless you're face to face.  Even then, I think I'd do it with an FFL to document it.  Pete

If you guys don't stop arguing over the rules I'll just stop you from selling them at all here. Is that what you want?

The GBO Rules read as they do because that's the OFFICIAL position of the BATFE when I asked them in writing for an opinion when I wanted to ship a rifle I sold via the Classifieds here.

If you don't like it then go elsewhere and buy and sell your stuff. I am deleting ALL posts that argue the rule from this thread and if the argument over it does not end I'll start to deleting memberships of folks who can't seem to accept the rules as stated. Am I real clear here? I'm sick and tired of folks acting like lawyers and spouting off what the law is. I got it straight from BATFE in writing in response to my written question to them regarding the need for an FFL to FFL or seller to FFL transfer to be legal question.

Unless and until such time as you provide to me on BATFE letter head a written response to a clearly asked written question on the matter I do not want to hear any more BS answers on the mattter. END OF DISCUSSION.

Just go FFL to FFL like is outlined in the rules and that's it.  I know there are other ways, but not for sales on this site.  It seems not too long ago the entire Classifieds section was almost shut down due to BATF descrepancies and the liability of this site for "promoting" or "hosting" the sales.
It's not worth it to you and definitely not worth jeopardizing this site.
Graybeard puts alot on the line hosting this site, follow HIS rules....irregardless of any interpretations of the law.

I don't want to sound antagonistic or anything, but this site is too awesome to risk losing some of it---or all of it.
