i know how the riding in wisconsin is, as i live in wisconsin and have rode extensively.   the only time it was necessary  was when  i had to move a few times in the middle of winter and had to move the bike from one residence to another.

Anyone ever hear of Hyosung?  I bought a 250 cc this summer as a first bike and like it so much, I traded it in a month later for #889/1000 limited anniversary edition that is 650 cc.  Rode in to work tonight at 35 degrees and will ride home in the morning around 25 degrees but the new hasn't had a chance to wear off of me yet.  If the weather holds (predicting snow), I am planning a 180 mile round trip for next Tuesday to visit a trapping/hunting buddy but man, oh man, I need to invest in a good set of heavy leathers.

One of the mc forums I read had a thread about riders who carry and I was surprised by the number who carry or at least pro gun.  I think bikes and guns attract the same personality types.  Individuals who are self reliant and love there freedom.  I have lots of guns and 5 bikes.

my wife was looking at one of them earlier this summer, it was the 650 bike.   it was a different bike.  she liked it because it was light.   then i showed her te buell blast, and that is what we got her.   she loves it; and the buell is really an interesting bike.   then i crashed my springer and now i am on a buell myself for a while until things settle down.   
   the people i talked to about the hyosungs liked them.

Not really a biker, but have 10+ bikes. My most useful bikes are the Yamaha Big Wheels, the old fat tired off road bikes. A Honda XL600R satisfies my occasional need for more power than I can control, beat more than a couple HDs off the line, always lose after 1/8 mile, I'm outta gears and they're still shifting!

You ever make it up to Tomahawk for the rally there in September? How 'bout the ride thru Wildcat Mountain, or the Mindoro Cut?  Stopped for Steak and Taters at the Center tap or BBQ Chicken dinners in Rockton? We probably have met in passing and just didn't know it yet.

We were in the U.P. on the Cisco Chain huntin' for Esox the week of the S&S party.....we're only 'bout 40 miles from La Crosse.

We love the ride along north shore of Lake Superior from Duluth to Thunder Bay. Gooseberry Falls is always a great spot for an Attitude adjustment.

35 is a nice ride also, we hit it several times a year both north and south of LaX. We generally will take a back road thru the ridges and coulees from here and then hit 35, stop and have a good bite to eat and then iffin it's gettin close to dark(cause of all the dam deer), we'll  take it to the interstate and then home. The pic of the RK in my first post in this thread is along 35 south of LaX.

Ever get down ridin' in this area give us a shout.....we don't need much of an excuse to ride. We'll show you some good roads and there's always a spare bed here for a fellow biker. If nuttin' else, we can point you down some good roads that shouldn't be missed.

Sounds good 460. My buddies and I love riding the Mississippi river valley and coulee areas, fun roads and great scenery. We will keep in touch about that.

curiously enough i grew up less than a mile from the mindoro cut, but it would be a mile as the crow flies.  if you stay on the roads it would be a 15 mile trip!  i used to walk xcountry and hunt all around there.   my grandpa also helped cut the mindoro cut.  i have been telling my friends about it, one of these days we will make it down that way.  last year we went on a ride down to trempeleau, another town i ran in as a kid.  i grew up on sweden coulee road, between holmen and mindoro.   a great place for a stop is pizza corral in holmen or in trempeleau.   get a viking special deep dish; and bring your appetite!  
   i went to the tomahawk rally many times back in the early ninties.   the street dance was cool, but i got fed up with the pro-harley b.s..   a much better venue is the vietnam vets summer twister in birnamwood, wi.   that is an old school biker party.    
    one of my bro's owns blackwidow choppers,  south of durand and just north of maxville right off of hwy 25.  i myself am leaving this area and moving to ellsworth within the month.

  i may just do that.  what town you live around?  i have a friend in the holmen area that wants to meet up one of these days as well  (co owner of dwyer longbows)   so i might be getting down that way sooner or later, but not before may for sure!  lol.

    Yeah, we did that - Still not so hot at it back then - If you look at the forearm you'll see that the rows of diamonds are on sort of a spiral around the heart - Wrap around patterns are hell to do well, and Mamacita's heart didn't make it any easier. Played around with that rifle after I bought it for her, and it shot very well for a factory gun - would say 5/8 to 3/4" with neck sized brass and 40 grain V MAXs.  Now that it's all dolled up she hasn't put another round throught it.

I started off back in '81 with a 1978 74 c.i. Harley Low Rider that I eventually bored and stroked to a 88 c.i. with a S&S Super B carb and 2" drag pipes. Man that thing would run. Sold it several years ago (like a dumba$$) and in '97 I picked up a '82 Ironhead Sporty. It was a rolling basket case. I ended up rebuilding it from the ground up and hot rodded it a little. Sold it in '06 and bought a '05 Yamaha V-Star 1100 Silverado. First ricer I've ever owned, but I like it alot. As far as guns go, I've got an Encore, a AR, several shotguns and a few handguns. I hope I never have to pick between my guns and my bike.

I have ridden a number of bikes starting in about 1964, if you count scooters. Grew up in a very small town and hunted squrriel, rabbits, dove, upland birds, mostly, with .22 rifle, pistol, and shotgun. I currently ride a 1994 Honda Magna V4, 750cc and own several hand guns, a shotgun, .22 single shot rilfe. I do usually carry a .357 snubbie when I ride and always have the .22mag NAA Mini on me, unless I'm working in a non-carry area.
 May end up having to sell the bike or a gun or two to get Christmas for my kids, if work doesn't pick up shortly. My daugther is already hooked on bikes, but my son doesn't care much for them.

Guess I will post a picture of my work in progress. It is a 77 Goldwing 1000. Looks some different from this now , bobbed rear , right hand suicide shift , There are more changes coming this spring as it warms up , someda I gotta build that garage.

This is the stripped down as the build started photo , Yes it was stripped and rebuilt on the trailer . Didn't want to have to reload if it didn't want to run.



Shift on the left with clutch on the pole , didn't like the setup at all . Changed it to left hand with clutch on the left bar as stock. Gonna get around to going back to left hand with a foot clutch if I ever get time to fab. something up.
