Just purchased a new Browning BAR Stalker w/ BOSS in 300 Win . Mag. last weekend. I was planning on feeding some Federal Premium High Energy loads (200 gr. Nosler Partitions & 180 gr. Trophy Bonded Bear Claws) that I picked up last fall on clearance until I read the disclaimer in the 2003 product catalog which states that HE bullets are not to be used in semi-auto rifles.
Is this a safety issue related to pressure or are they using a powder that will cause cycling problems? I emailed Federal but have not yet received a response. Any thoughts?
