I have both sets of rings. Planned it out before hand like this . . .
Encore 209X50 ML barrel wears the QD rings and a Bushnell Elite 3-9X40mm (plan on getting a .308 barrel down the road and I may look at swapping the scope between these two barrels) - got the QD rings so that I could remove the scope for cleaning the ML barrel if needed. They lock really tight and are supposed to maintain zero after removing and replacing scope on mount. Haven't verified that yet. This set up is rock solid and I was able to print 3 1/2" groups at 100 yards. This isn't as great as some of the others posted here, but it was a start. Still experimenting.
When I switch to my .223 24" barrel it has the non-QD rings. I have a Bushnell Elite 4200 4-16X40mm mounted in them. Did this mainly because I don't ever plan on swapping this scope between any other barrels. Again, a rock solid set up. And yes, they are built like a tank - I agree!
I don't think you can go wrong with the Warne Maxima series of bases and rings.
