Some of em come with a stock bolt, this is the second one that didn't, it takes 3/8"-24x2" socket head or button socket head cap screw, the button heads are hard to find.

Mine just came! If it has any flaws, I can't find them. Fit and finish are perfect. It didn't come with a sling stud, but no big deal, I had one. My 45-70 already had the camo laminates, so my forearm matches good enough.

i  got  2  coming  $60
what  do  i  need for a stock bolt??

gonna order  that SS 45-70  tomorrow  just  so  i can stop wanting  one

45-70.gov, Found this in the FAQ's. Thanks again quick! -gary

The stock bolt is a standard 3/8"-24x 4" fine thread cap screw bolt, the Survivor stock takes a 5" bolt. Laminated thumbhole stocks take a 2" button head socket bolt, available from H&R or bolt supply houses. http://www.boltdepot.com/product.aspx?cc=13&cs=72&cm=25&cd=1229

I just got off the phone with H&R Customer service regarding the camo forend.  The said it would be 30-45 day before they receive any stock.  But the main question I have is this.  They said the only camo forend they have listed is part number SO2587 which is for the shotgun.  They implied that many of the parts listed in the 2007 price list were no longer available.

Is this true or did I not ask the right question?

Thanks.

I just received the two that I ordered, don't see anything wrong with them, and they both have the bolt included.  I don't see them listed on Boyd's site any longer.  Glad I ordered when I did.

The smooth camo laminate forend is part #R01182. Since H&R doesn't offer any firearms that don't come checkered, they may have discontinued the smooth forend and only offer the checkered that Brownell's sells, but then again, they give out misinfo all the time, so it's hard to tell what's available.  :-\

The $22.99 stock is now listed as out of stock, no surprise there!! :D

After a second call to H&R Customer service, I am told that the smooth Camo Laminate forend is part number SO2588 and the price is $41.30.  I was told that it is in stock but that is "suspect" based on my recent conversations with CS.

Those other numbers may be the forends for the Ultra Slug guns which would explain their higher cost, they're bigger than rifle forends, but they will fit, they just have a much bigger channel.

The surprise is that it lasted more than a week. They must have had dozens of the things to get rid of.

I received both my cinnamon stocks today. Both have visible flaws's. One in the recess near the pistol grip and the other about an inch from the sling stud. Both look like tiny knots about a quarter inch in diam. They were clearly marked with a grease pen. Not bad for the price. also no bolts and it took a lot of force on the allen wrench too get one of them to tighten up good for no movement.

I wondered about that myself, since the color pattern, and name are slightly different.

It's quite a bit to spend on something that may not match even if it's close, especially when you can just order the correct one from Brownells.

A week to the day from ordering, my second camo lam stock arrived. This time at the nice price!  ;D Like the top dollar one I paid for a few weeks ago, this one had the bolt but not have the swivel stud. Very minor flaws.  Happy camper with future projects ahead for winter. -g

Well I ordered mine last friday late, and just got it a little while ago.

Came with the screw, and buttpad, no swivel stud, and I've already installed it on my .223 and I'll tell you what it fits me like a glove.

I honestly can say I was expecting something a little less than what I got, but this thing is flawless, and even with my strong glasses on I can't find a blemmish anywhere, and I studied it long and hard.

Thanks to those who posted on this great deal, and I would probably never have ordered a stock of this quality if not for you guys.

I went ahead and installed mine and will have to wait on my forend from Brownell's.  It has a Burris 4X20 scope in Zee low rings, cut down hammer to clear the scope, and a backordered matching forend.  The existing forend has had the o-ring treatment.

I have had my stock on the handi for a couple weeks or so now.  Had a good solid range day with the .243 barrel, and I fell in love!  I was running the forend off the .243 which was in another laminate color scheme.  I ordered up a camo laminate forend from H&R customer service, which arrived today.  I ordered one for the ultra slug, but what I got is WAY different than what is pictured on the H&R website....

The forend is VERY long, and the barrell channel is nothing short of huge.  I ordered for a 20ga ultra slug, but I think I got the 12ga.  I am trying to figure out what I am going to do for it.  I have a good 1/16" gap on all surfaces from the spacer to the end of the grip.  I have a standard fuel injector o-ring floating the barrel off the grip, so it will actually line up, with the .243 barrel spacer.  I mean hey.... it's floated right?

Any thoughts?

pretty big gap..my first thought would be to exchange it for the right one but looks like you already might have poked some holes in it(for the bipod)if it hasn't been altered try to exchange it

That's the forend for the 12ga USH deluxe which has a lot bigger barrel, but it will still work, just lots of space for the barrel.  ;D

Forend came with the holes for the mounting screw and a sling swivel.  The bi-pod attaches to the stud with no damage or marks left on the rifle it is mounted to.  I will call them monday morning to see what we can do.  Not only does the thing not line up at all, and move around when you bump it, but it is LONG and checkered (bleh).

Boyd's could make the forends, but on a business standpoint, I would prefer one part being made at company A, and the second at company B.  This would protect my interest and maintain exclusivity of the completed "kit".
