feeding 308 win in a mauser?

Here is my problem;   I have used this Mauser action for 8MM (ORIGNAL), 6MM -22, 35 wHELEN. ALL FED EXCLENT!  but now I have put a 308 Win. on it, and it will not feed? the cartridge goes to high and scrapes the brass on the top side of the brass.

   Should I relive the side rails so that tha case is released sooner, hopefully behind the extractor!

   Any suggestions???

I have 2 of these, just the thing for 308 in the 98 Mauser. I got mine direct from Gunparts Corp but they are a hard to navigate website if you are looking for aftermarket parts.
