new to forum

I am a new member but have been lurking around for quite a while and got some good info. I just got my handi back from the factory and had a 308 bull barrell fitted but cant seem to get it to groop. I went through the break in I learned on here but it still wont come closer than a 6" groop at 100 yards. There seems to be quiet a bit of slop or side to side movment between the recever and barrell, the gun has a syntictic stock. Any advise I handload and have tried a few diffrent loads and havent seen much diffrence.  thanks in advance.       newmoon

Welcome! If the barrel is loose when the action is closed, it needs to go back to H&R for repair, a new barrel most likely. If it's only lose when the action open, it's just forend fit that needs to be changed. If you need to return to have the barrel fixed/replaced, call and explain the problem and ask that they cover return shipping to have it repaired. ;)

Welcome to the forum, I think Quicks got it right. I had a .30-30 barrel that didn't lock up tight and it shot ok but not good. I've traded it to another GB member and it shoots well for him, I could have sent it back but I've got some other plans and needed some cash to fund them. That all came to a sudden stop when I hit the ground at the base of my tree stand, But I hope to be working on my handies again this spring. 8)

Once again welcome.
