To shim or not to shim???

I ordered a couple of receivers recently to fit to barrels I already had... The barrel locks up tight on this receiver but it will close on a .003  but not a .004 feeler gauge... It closes on the .002 feeler gauge and I can't pull it out like it said in the faq's... Should I leave it alone or try to shim it??? If I shim it I'm sure I will have have to remove a little metal put a thick shim and work it back....

I say leave it and shoot for effect, see how it shoots as is before you try to change anything....<><....:)

by the way, did you buy used recievers or did you "order" new ones? If you did order new ones where did you order them and how much were they?

Digging into the wealth of misinformation and inexperience that I have, I would say if it locks up tight on .002, leave it alone, it's fine.  

O.K. Guys, where are you????  Am I missleading this guy??? HALP!!!

I bought them used from radar on the forum..... This is kinda new to me so i'm proceeding with caution...

Check latch engagement, if it looks good, shoot it!! ;)
