280 Handi Accuracy
« on: October 11, 2008, 10:05:13 AM »
Have any of you more experienced Handi owners had one in 280?  I want to pick up a longer distance rifle.  I love my 45-70 but need something with some reach and have dies and three boxes of 280 ammo.  I really like the cartridge and the thought of having an inexpensive but accuate single shot.

Can any of you help me out?

I've got one that will do just about anything I put in it at 1 1/2 inch or less.  Never had to do anything to it.  DP

Mine will shoot less than one inch at 100 yards on a good day. With my favorite handloads of course.

one of the most accurate guns I own. I can shoot under 1" at 100yds with my handloads. recoil is very manageable too.

IMO its one of the best.  Accuracy, moderate recoil, huge selection of bullets avaialable, and the 26" barrel.

I only have 2 Handi's left in .280 (I had 3, decided I only needed 2  :D) and they both shoot GREAT, and I dare say most everyone elses does as well. It is one of those cartridges that just seem to flat out work!!!....<><....:)
