Question
« on: October 06, 2008, 04:16:32 AM »

It seems like the board has been overflowing with customer service issues (good and bad). Is it possible to add another board under the NEF/H&R group where ALL of these issues and discussions could take place and we could get back to talking about normal stuff?

If this turns into a petition, add me to the list.   Its nice to read the pardner or rimfire or muzzleloader board without half the posts being customer service stories.   All the Ilion threads here are getting to be a dead horse beating contest.

I think it's a great idea, but there's already a good place for them, it's called the Trash Can, I'd be glad to move em there, but  the decision on a new forum or a sub-forum is for Graybeard to make. ;)

Actually it's a decision for the membership to make. The way we add new forums is for someone to post a new forum request in the proper format in the proper place. Then if it gets 12 yes votes it gets added.

I do see it as a valid request and am not one who thinks customer service issues belong in the trash can but out in the open for all to see and comment on.

Bill, It would give us a heads up on things to look out for dealing with CS and at the same time not clutter up the forums.

I think the point is it's a temporary situation and in due time will only be a bad memory. Someone that wants the forum created needs to post a request in the Request a New Forum forum. Someone also needs to step up and moderate it, be sure to read the rules for posting the request.

For my part I see nothing wrong with folks telling what kind of service they have received be it good or bad.  I want to know what is going on with the new service department and when/if it improves.

There are many threads on this and other forums I simply don't open as they are of no interest to me.  If you don't want to know what is happening with Remington and customer service simply bypass the thread.  You will know with the first post if it is of interest to you or not.  After that it's a matter of self discipline.  If you are unable to bypass and comment then it must be of some interest.  Moving the entire subject to another area may work but what about those who have no interest in pistol cartridges?  Would it be proper to move all pistol cartridge comments to a new area?  Extreme example but if this problem is going to pass shortly as many seem to believe then the problem will go away very quickly.

I think it would be a good idea, because I've seen guys getting slammed when they attempt to let off steam or try to tell their side of the story when dealing with CS.

It does get old, and does take up space in the regular forum, especially for those who have patience not to do business with them until things settle down, but then how will "we" know when/if those issues finally do settle down, unless we have a way to keep up with the legit gripes?

So those who don't want to read can always just skip that topic, but I do feel that another forum topic will keep those who want/need to vent and complain, will have a chance to do so, and to those who truly wish to listen!

Got my vote!
My culled down Handi's are the 45-70, and then I have a few others to keep it company...357 Mag/Max. .45 LC/.454 Casull Carbine, .243 Ultra, and 20 gauge Tracker II.

I guess this proves my point that no matter where you look on the board some one seems to be complaining about the CS issues.

Also proves the point that there are still CS issues with the Remington folks.  At least it appears so and has, in this instance, been brought forth with very little in the way of a complaint.  Makes me aware of the need to wait awhile if I were thinking of having work done.

I guess I'm having trouble understanding why this is "taking up to much space" here.  Are we gonna run out of paper?  This is a forum to discuss the Handi's and the C/S and Remington is part of the Handi now.  Will we start a separate place to talk about each problem we have with 243's, superlight barrels ect.?  If it doesn't intrest you, skip it and read the next one.  That's what we all do anyway.  DP

Hofs01 not complaining just the facts! Called Rem. today they are sending a return shipping box and say they will make every thing right, can't ask for anything more.

Last I noticed no one has yet posted the poll asking for that forum. Perhaps it shouldn't be limited to just NEF or Remington/NEF but to all customer service issues period or maybe it's not needed at all. Me I don't care either way.

Hay fellers, I'm one of those that have posted neg. things about handies and rem. cs. I not only vent, but also look for advice. Also try to warn everyone that will read my post, what could happen to them and learn from my misstakes. I do read the neg. stuff on your site. I have also been told (not right out) that I don't know what I'm doing (somes op ion). I would hope that this forum would help the less satisfied and dumb, handi owners become satisfied and alot smarter. If not I am waisting my time here.
