ANOTHER TRIP TO THE CANDY SHOP!!
« on: October 05, 2008, 06:51:46 PM »
SUNDAY with nothing to do when my buddy calls and asks if I want to ride to the gun shop.
SURE!
He was looking for a scope for one of his MLs.
As soon as we walked in the door the dude says I been waithing for you two to show up, I've got a couple of guns you might want.
Man I am about tapped out but what do have.
"I just got them in on trade FRIDAY and haven't even had time to unpack them yet".
He pulls out a NEF in 35WHELEN with a 3-9 scope mounted in steel rings, NW 2006.
It still has the tags on it. Test fired only.
I got one.
How much?
$150.00------I'LL TAKE IT!
Next he pulls out another one set up with the same scope and rings unfired in (heck I can't even remember what the caliber #s was) 7x? BRENNEKE, NL 1997.
How much for this one?
$200.00-----I'll take it too!!!
Then he says "I almost forgot this one also has two boxes of new ammo with it".
I had a $100.00 on me and my buddy lent me a $100.00 so I put a deposit on each and will pick them up next week end.
He doesn't sell many HANDYs and I guess he must have made a heck of a trade with the guy.
Who cares!
Man I hate going to the CANDY SHOP!!!

He didn't have any ML scopes on hands.

I was real excited until I realized that he said the Whelen was one of the 2006 models, not the RMEF with 26" barrel. 7x64 Brenneke is pretty close to a .280 Remington with a 24" barrel.

Thanks MITCH.
I knew it was 7x something BRENNEKE.
I guess in all the excitement of the prices and all I just went blank.

26" would have been nice but for the price you take what you can get.
I have a 35 already and depending which one shoots the best there might be a 35W barrel up for sale soon, along with some other barrels I have.

Just bought a 223 rechamber to 225 Win so I don't need the 223 I was going to redo along with an old H&R 22jet rechambered to 225 with the snap on forearm.
Also might have a 308 ultra comp.
Possibly a 45-70 BC barrel if I get the gun bought right, I need the rest of the gun for my 38-55.

Will post them latter when I decide.
