Well I know I will hear "nay sayers" but this is about the new scope I bought.
At one time Simmons was pretty nice. People still swear by the Whitetail.
Simmons, Weaver and Readfield have been owned by several different large conglomerates over the last many years that were into profit and maybe not much research. Then a couple years ago Meade bought them. Meade (the telescope company) is the first company that owned them in recent years that really was into optics. I understand they redesigned the scopes and created the new master series.
I think they had a problem with them and recalled them all. Now the new (fixed) series is out, but everybody is afraid of them. Looking at the specs of the new ideas that meade designed in, they sound impressive for a $200 scope. I bought the 6-20 power with side focus and mildot. One of the best parts is the scope weighs less them the BSA, which puts my Savage 10FP under the 10 lbs, 2 oz weight limit to shoot High Power Silhouette.
Then I did my best days shopping and planned it out. First I shopped all over and found what I wanted priced real cheep "blow them out" special at a shooters supply in "mid south". Then I called that S place in Texas where I bought my BSA and asked if they would do anything since it never worked. They told me "we don't take care of the warranty, you need to contact BSA". So I then asked about that little 110% price guarantee they show on the website. I then directed them to that website in the "mid south". They sold it to me for 125.00.

I figure BSA will send me a new scope, or a couple until they get it right. I think I will use the BSA on the H&R because the higher power will let me see those smaller holes out at 300 -400 yards.
