Mossberg 500 rifle barrle what brand shell is best

i have a mossberg 500 rifle barrel what is the best sabot slug to put in this gun i want to narrow this down to what you guys think before i go to the range

I have the same barrel on one of my Mossy 500's and I tried the new Remington premier Accutips this year. It seems to like them alright. but it like the new Winchesters better. I can't remember the name but they are the 3" mags with the 300grn poly tipped sabot. at 100yd I was managing 1-1.5 inch groups when I did my part. if you have the plastic stock on your 500 you might want to try adding some weight to the inside of the stock, it helps tremendously with the recoil. I put three 6" X 1/2" pieces of copper tubing hammered and crimped then filled with #7.5 shot then again hammered and crimped again. I then packed saw dust around them to keep them from moving around. in the pic you can only see one of them but there are three. It added about 1.5-2lbs to the gun.

Probably the best thing to do is try a couple brands and go from there. It would be great to know a priori what will give the best accuracy (particularly with the pricey sabots) but your barrel may like different fodder than mine or someone else's.

well at the advice of a locall gun smith i tried the hornady SST 12GA 300 grain sabot slug 50 yards it was right on the money 100 yards 4 inches low so i split the difference the last shot at 100 yards was low 2 inches and to the left i am happy with the results i will be going back for a  other round to make sure you see i only purchase one box !
