Great Stevens 200 243 Accuracy!!
« on: September 28, 2008, 03:19:57 AM »
My Dad picked up a Stevens 200 in 243 from a member on this forum.  He and his friend went to the range to sight it and group it.  After sighting it in they shot it for a 3 shot group with Remington 100 grain Coreloct.  He shot a 3 shot group of 3/8" center to center!!!  Wow!  His friend was so excited he went straight to his dealer and ordered one.  Can you imagine that type of group with just factory cheap ammo?  Let's face it, the Coreloct's are great bullets but they aren't exactly premium ammo and to group like that is a testament to the rifles accuracy.  I'm envious of my Dad's rifle.:)

:) i told you it would shoot.

try the sierra 60-grain with 40.5 grains of varget and watch the 1/2" groups show up with five-shot groups.

I have it on good authority that the telepromter is writing a stern letter.

i owned another stevens .243 before that one and it shot basically the same.

just can't beat 'em. i install the bases with fingernail polish in the screw threads to lock them in, tighten, and install scope. take the stock off, adjust the trigger, put it back together and go shoot 1/2" groups.

great quality for $300.

Yep!  I've had sub MOA with my 200 .243 using Federal Power Shoks.  I've found this kind of accuracy consistent with each of my 200's.
