centerfire barrel exchange

I am relatively new to NEf's and have had a couple of barrels fitted to my Huntsman muzzleloader..NEF states that all barrels must be fitted at the factory...I see a lot for sale here and was wondering if they would fit into the receiver--rifle to rifle--w/out sending it back to NEF for fitting--thanx--Mark

The short answer is MAYBE , the H&R's do not hold to the same specs as say a TC were in theory any barrel will fit any frame . I have found that all my barrels form say an 02 frame will fit the other 02 frames and so on . This does not always hold true but in most cases it does for me .

The FAQ's is a great place to find the in's and out's of the Handi rifle , spend a little time there and you too will understand the addiction of these fine rifles .

Thanx for the feedback---looking forward to my Handi--I have some expensive firearms and am inpressed of the utility of my Huntsman---Ordered a slug barrel and a turkey barrel----

How do you know if a barrel fits safely??? If the action closes is it safe to shoot??
