Got my BC receiver and new barrel back today . . .
« on: September 24, 2008, 04:07:29 PM »
Mailed it to Ilion on 22 August - got it back today, 24 Sept, 4 1/2 weeks later.  The new barrel (7mm-08) fits tightly and so does the original .45-70 barrel.  The rifle arrived in a box very like the one I bought in in originally, and was well packaged.  Saw no damage at all to the rifle, no scratches or rubs, but the bore was dirty from firing.  I won't be able to shoot either barrel til Sunday (got an LSU ball game to go to Saturday  :D).  Will let you know how they shoot - I've never shot either barrel before, I sent them a brand new receiver.  Looks like Remington has pretty much gotten their act together as far as I can see, so far.

Hope they have gotten it together!  Sent mine off for a .308 Win Bbl yesterday.  I would be thrilled to get it back in 4.5 weeks!

My .308 isn't a Handi, it's a Ruger, but I know you'll really like the rifle and the caliber.  When I get caught up, I'm going to get a .308 Handi too.
Keep both eyes open and make the first shot good.
