One more set of grips and a holster
« on: September 23, 2008, 10:55:00 AM »
I didn't actually make these, I just finished them up for Ruger. They came off the Blackhawk I posted earlier and didn't fit very well. I made them fit the gun and refinished them. They are on my old single six that I've carried a jillion miles.

While I was at it I made a new holster for it too.

Since it's a .22, if you don't feel well enough armed you could strap this on with it.

Beautiful work O&S!  How long did it take you to make the holster for the SS?  Is it from scratch or is it a kit? I'ld like to find or make something like that for my new SS.

It's scratch built. Modified an Al Stohlman pattern to fit the pistol , cut everything out, tooled it, and sewed it together. It took a couple of days but part of the time was waiting on leather or glue to dry. If you are interested in building a kit google Tandy Leather Co. and Hidecrafters. I know Tandy has some kits but I'm not sure about Hidecrafters.

The knife and sheath were scratch built too.
