I have a .243 left hand model that I bought awhile back. I have not shot it much yet but have had the bolt out for cleaning at least a dozen or so times without any problem. Yesterday I removed the bolt for cleaning. When I attempted to put the bolt back in it would not go. After fooling around awhile I found that it would go in to the point to where the bolt handle hits the stock if the handle was on the right side. It will not begin to go in if I have it on the left like it should be. I cannot figure out what I did and how to fix it. Any help would be much appreciated. I am sure there is a simple answer to this but I do not know what it is.

You would ask that. It is either a 110 or 111. It was one of the bolt action combinations with scope and wood stock. Just bought it new last year.

Sounds like the front of the bolt got rotated about 180 degrees.

I don't have a Savage, so I would have to look at it.

I am sure there are people our there that can provide you pictures with bolts that are setup correctly.

After leaving it alone for a day I started fooling around with the bolt and this time the lug rotated and I was able to get the bolt to fit properly. Thanks to those who replied.
