Steel/non toxic shot in Pardners?

How well do the NEF's/H-R's in 20 and 12 gauge in modified choke fare with steel and other non toxic shot? Do the fixed chokes open up? Barrels get scored up bad?

Anyone know? There's got to be a waterfowler hunting "on the cheap" with a NEF/H-R. Will the barrels/chokes hold up?

Generally speaking do not use steel or any of the other hard non toxics in fixed choke tubes period. Unless the manufacturer specifically says it's OK use only modern shotguns with screw in chokes for them.
