.358 Winchester
« on: September 16, 2008, 06:29:22 AM »
Wouldn't a Model 7600 Synthetic Stock with a 18.5" barrel in .358 Winchester be a barn burner.  I don't think it would ever happen but I would buy one.  Even a 20" barrel would be good.

Many here agree. I have contacted Grices several times including this year about the 358 Winchester. I have been told they are considering it and also have been told that they will never consider it so your guess is as good as mine.

I would like to see it offered. Do I need it no. Do I want it yes.

I have both the 35 Remington and the 35 Whelen. I could re-chamber my Remington but I don't want to.

MIKE.

I don't understand why Grice is so secretive. I've called in the past about special runs, asked to be put on a call list when the guns arrived, they never called.  They're too independent, and rude. No need to jerk everyones chain. Granted we  '760 /7600' guys are a breed of our own, but geez we just want some information and they will problably make a sale. Guess when your the only game around you can be a jerk!

I bought the two 35's from them and a 25-06 that I traded away for a 257 Roberts. They were very polite and helpfull during the sales but it's about a 50/50 split when I call for information about future runs.

Early this year I called and the guy was great stayed on the phone chewing the fat dropping hints of what might come. I called a few months later and the guy blew me off.

So here we are. No idea of what might be coming.

I have the two 35's, 7mm-08, 257 Roberts, my son has the 30-06 and I just pick up a 6mm on gunbroker last week for $630 bucks NIB, a good price. I had some money burning a hole in my pocket.

At this point the only caliber I would buy this year is the 358. In the future I would consider the 260 or 25-06 just for fun. But I'm coming to the end with these guns.

No thanks. I'm keeping all of my 7600's. I did not mean to imply that I was done in that I wanted to get rid of what I have. Just that I don't want to buy many more.

I love the 870/1100/11-87/7400/7600 family. I have ten 1100's, nine 870's, one 11-87, one SP-10, two 7400's, one 572 and six 7600's including my sons. Thirty Remington's in all.  The only one I would consider selling is the SP-10. Don't hunt waterfowl and boy is that gun heavy. MIKE.

Nyhunter, if you think they're rude on the phone you should see how they are in person. One time while there I stood in front of the gun counter for fifteen minutes while two clerks shot the breeze while not even acknowledging me. When they finally asked me if I wanted to look at something I said not now and left. I have bought a lot of stuff from them over the years though. Their advantage is they have everything and they know it.
