Thats all I reload any more. I tried Lymans, Lee,and SPW Hammer heads and the LF's for different reasons suit me better. The LF-IDS are easy to load and give excellent accuracy even over 100yd.

Can you get any of your loads to shoot tighter groups than there factory ones.I have never loaded any slugs before what type of crimper do you need or do you need a pacific hull.Any info on the web on how to load them?

I have never shot there factory loads, but I wouldn't think they would be as accurate as a powder weighed hand load. Last winter I got one three shot 2 1/2" group at 200 yds with two holes touching. With WSF powder I use the regular 8 star crimp on My Mec loader. With SR 4756 or Blue Dot I use the roll crimp and drill press--hand drill will work. The roll crimper is from ASSA. I see no difference in accuratcy of the two. I use Multi and Cheddite hulls. The slugs come with a load data sheet.

I dont think i can do that with factory loads but they do shoot well.I have a mossberg and a  USH I have not shot much at that distance.Would you want to share your load with me i would like to try it,I still not sure how to crimp and seat them yet, or what type of hull to use.

eyeshot I currently reload metallic cartridges with a rcbs press. What do I need to get to get started reloading 12ga slugs? How easy or difficult is it?

IMO it's very easy all you actually need is a powder scales and a roll crimper on a hand drill if you use new primed hulls

Suggest going with Cheddite hulls pre-primed with Cheddite primers since theydo have lower pressure than W 209's etc. Roll crimping with variable speed drill is very easy. You basically will get a feel when rolling the hull such that you will "feel" the load tighten up and you won't have any play in payload. I made a case gauge out of PVC that measures the total length when I roll crimp down so that I am pertty much at same total length every load. Does it make a difference? Don't know for sure but brass loading guy in me makes me do it. Bottom line is you will no tbuy factory stuff once you load your own. Each shot is same place every time which cannot be duplicated by factory loads based upon experience I have had with factory stuff. Each lot flies different. When you reload, each lot is the exact same performance. No fliers!

Got crimper years ago from Rich Knoster (www.shotgunslugs.com) when I bought some Hammerhead SPW slugs. Ballistic Products carries roll crimpers as well. I like the plastic ones better than steel since I think they heat up the rim of hull faster and get smother roll crimps. But then again just me.

What size hulls do you use the 16mm or 25mm?

The brass height makes makes no difference. I have used 8,16,25mm, and one of my favorite Active hulls no brass. There not made anymore, only have a few left. Whats important is the base wad being 7mm or less for plenty of room for powder and slug.

OK I have no tools or knowledge about this..However $3.00 everytime I pull the trigger is getting disgusting... Can sabot slug's be reloaded" I know the advantage's of the accuracy and the cost reduction..I do have some powder scale's and a complete RCBS rock chicker setup.. But no shotgun stuff at all..What would I need and where would I get the stuff... But it must be sabot rounds... I have 3 slug guns all fully rifled. Thanks All Drop
