Mc, Good for you!!! The .22 Hornet is one of my favorite calibers. I only have a BRNO, a Ruger, and A T/C 8300 in this caliber. They all shoot well. The first thing that I would advise is not to listen to people who say the Hornet this, the Hornet that. This little round still surprises me the things it will do.  R Jones

I also have a Model 40 as well as a Handi with a 20" barrel and a T/C with 10" barrel in 22 Hornet. I have been experimenting with light bullets and H 110 getting in the neighborhood of 3000+ fps in the Model 40. Not too shabby for the little Hornet. The only down side I see is the case life is not as long as I get out of my other .224 caliber rifles, but the cases are cheap, so it is not a big deal any way. The fun factor more than makes up for it. You will get a lot of enjoyment out your Model 40. Good Shooting and Good Luck.

ozarkhillbilly49 - I put a Mueller APV on mine and I think I done real good. $115 with free shipping. I own three of them and for the money I think they do great.

hi laotto!! i have a 93r17 in the same stock( these are both ellet bro. exclusive's). i put a mueller apv on the 97. it is a fine scope but in these stocks i am having an issue with eye relief.i like the rifle. i got one group of 5 shots at 100 yds. with all holes touching!! not bad !! a dime easily covered the group.it is at the bench that i am having eye relief issues.other than that i think i got a decent setup!! take care all and good shooting!!!!
