I just had to comment on this as it brings up good memory's about where we have been and what we have done. With the introduction of satellite imagery along with GPS mapping to include the topography software, you can track where you have been over the years. In my case, I was able to link up very large areas as I started hunting in 1969. Sadly we lose permissions and cant go back to some of these places and it is even more disastrous when a housing development breaks up the areas.
Back to the point though...based on personal experience (read success rates) and the current thoughts on the best hunting as suggested on the topographical elevations (read ridges and high ground for at least the travel paths) this data does seem to pan out as the higher ground contours can snake along for miles with one end being a lot higher (or lower) than the other.

I am done rambling now...was just being nostalgic but am always interested in improving your hunt if I can.

been to fern cliff many times. fished glendale lake. hunted on my cousins farm outside of golconda and another cousins farm in foreman. went to the one room school at foreman for my first 7 years. me and my brothers carried our rifles to school and would hunt the bottom for squirrels after school. (only 14 kids in the whole school) the greatest years of my life.

The last few years I have hunted in Marshall Co.  but my friend sold the farm this summer and I haven't found another spot there.  I might be hunting Woodford or Tazewell counties this year.  I need to get out scouting.  Not long until Oct 1

Well, I live in Upstate NY, but have hunted Pike the last three years during the muzzleloader season. You sure have a great deer state!  Last year's ice storm really put the damper on things, but we had a great time. Hunted a farm in a little town called Kiderhook.
