Mine just started that nonsence. I haven't addressed the issue yet. You need to read the FAQs in addition to the basics. It is a pretty easy problem to fix. It may just be an oily latch or latch shelf. Or, perhaps you may have to smoke it with a candle or match, lock it up, unlock it and see how much the latch is grabbing. If it is not enough, you may have to touch the shelf on the BARREL, don't touch the frame, with a file to get a little more engagement. I'll get to mine after the holiday, and let you know how it turned out. I suspect mine is just oil. I tend to get heavy with it. With the temperature changes around here, things rust while you're looking at them.
