I know this an old post but being it has no replies I figured ill throw in my 2cents.
as far as Im concerned color does not matter...I use it all and can tell know differance in one from the other as far as how fish react...most of my catfishing and carp rods are spooled with "neon" colors such and neon green, blue and even pink, simply because I can see the line and tell when something is messing with it as the rod tip doesnt always tell the story. It seems the latest fad is red line..red hooks..etc etc...they claim it vanishes in water...yes this is true...but only at certain depths..if this was true why would all these bass fishing lures have red hooks or "blood spots" and make the claim "it attracts the bass!!!!" umm wouldnt it vanish? I mean thats what the line manufatures say about there line..who are also the same people making these red lures that "attract" fish. you want something that truely vanishes or atleast is very hard to see go florocarbon..but be prepaired to pay 5x the amount as to regular mono...anywho rant button off....go with what ever color YOU can see the best or whatever your favorite line is...color really makes no differance in my opinion. I like most all lines to a certain extent whether it be trilene or stren...i know for alot of folks thats like ford or chevy... my favorite is power pro braid and I use a mono leader usually made of berkley big game...anywho...good luck and tight lines!
