« on: August 21, 2008, 07:38:48 AM »
Can they be had ?
Could a FFL holder/NEF dealer order just the frame ?
Any used ones out there ?
Cost ?

Thanks,

Nope, only complete firearms and other repair parts can be ordered by distributors directly from H&R. The ONLY place to get a frame is a used one in the classifieds or at one of the auction sites.

The only stainless frame made is available on the SS 45-70 Ultra Hunter, all other frames are nickel plated.

I know this may sound silly, but would there be any issue mating other barrels with the stainless frame?

Shouldn't be any different, the barrel underlug is where any changes are made to fit a barrel, not the frame, see Barrel Fitting in the FAQs if you're referring to fitting your own.
